LARA

AMS Lab

The AMS (accelerator mass spectrometry) lab at the LARA

The LARA laboratory was established in 2013 at the initiative of the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research (OCCR)  and the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences. About a dozen of the research groups at the University of Bern need to use 14C analysis. Their work ranges from the reconstruction of climate history, to the identification of sources of particulate matter and to archaeology. However, the LARA does not work exclusively for the groups from the University of Bern. Its services are open to all interested users involved in research or administration.
